This is what a $25,000 New York City hotel room looks like

If New York is the “concrete jungle where dreams are made of,” it’s safe to say many of those dreams start somewhere within the walls of the luxe Lotte New York Palace Hotel. Located on the corner of 50th and Madison Avenue, the storied hotel has a coveted location in one of the world’s priciest shopping districts, and borders famed landmarks like the Rockefeller Centre, Radio City Music Hall and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Best known as “The Palace,” the Manhattan property was bought by South Korea’s prestigious Lotte Group in 2015 as part of their foray into North America markets. Today, it’s frequented by celebrities, CEOs and royalty alike, and has served as a backdrop in productions including Homeland, Gossip Girl and The Blacklist. Many Hollywood stars have passed through the gilded front doors, as the Palace has also hosted photo shoots for the likes of actress Blake Lively, and the entire casts of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.

Here are some highlights of this incredible New York City property, including a glimpse inside the $25,000 per night rooms that will have you dreaming of a suite escape.

The Jewel Suite

This gem of a suite was designed in collaboration with Martin Katz, known as the jeweler to the stars. His influence is felt throughout the three-storey, 5,000 square foot suite, which has three bedrooms, five bathrooms, an elevator, grand piano, living room, dining room and entertainment lounge.

Showstoppers include the dazzling 20-foot Waterfall of Diamonds crystal chandelier which is framed by a spiral staircase, and floating jewelry displays in the main entrance holding $1 million worth of gems.

As if all that weren’t opulent enough, bonuses of reserving the room include a $2,500 diamond microband, a private consultation with Katz himself, champagne, white roses and use of a Maybach sedan.

The Champagne Suite

Inspired by Dom Perignon, the Champagne Suite is another one of the Lotte Palace Hotel’s most extravagant options. Spread out over three floors, the design palate features rich bronze and black tones throughout, while the two bedrooms have hints of a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay colour scheme.

The room is anchored by a glittering crystal pendant chandelier, made to resemble champagne bubbles floating to the top of a flute.

Keeping with the champagne theme, there is a formal dining room, private butler and wine cave. It’s also easy to entertain, thanks to the den with a wood-burning fireplace which leads to the outdoor terrace complete with a waterfall spa.

Shopaholics love the Metropolitan Suite, which is like a glamourous home away from home. The 3,500 square foot room has two bedrooms, a gourmet, stainless-steel chef’s kitchen, dining room, living room, cozy library and two marble bathrooms.

The contemporary design is apparent as soon as one walks through the entrance, thanks to the tiled white foyer where sculptures are artfully displayed.

However, it’s the storage space that steals the show in this suite: the oversized, walk-in closet in the master bedroom is so large it would make Carrie Bradshaw jealous. Even so, hotel staff often have to wheel in clothing racks for guests who do so much shopping on 5th Avenue that they still don’t have enough space to display their designer purchases.

Those who are looking to splurge but aren’t lucky enough to have a platinum trust fund will love the Towers Corner Suites. In a city where space is at a premium, the 1210 square foot rooms feel like a palace, and are just as classy.

There’s also an option to book an adjoining Queen room, which is great for families or groups.

Beautiful, but certainly not how I would want to spend my money. Of course, I am not a person who needs privacy and exclusivity when I travel. Nor, am I a person with that kind of disposable income. Maybe if I was, this would be my number one pick.

  2. Tae says:

Oh my gosh, wow! Hahaha… it’s a beautiful place and if you had the money, I could see why someone would want to stay there. I love the room with the black and white muraled wall – by far my favorite. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into the lux-life!

  3. Nathan says:

One day I hope! Even if I had that kind of money I can’t see spending $25k per night on a room but one can dream. These rooms are gorgeous though.

  4. This makes me want to work twice as hard and earn twice as much and then go and spend it all staying in luxury in NY. Beautiful photos and epic residences that come with a high price no doubt but also are a once in a lifetime dream. Luxury redefined and the views are breathtaking.

  5. Kisty Mea says:

I like the black room with the white mural, so artsy! Anyway, these photos are so beautiful but… well, I don’t have $25,000. 🙁 Still, thank you for sharing!

  6. Julie says:

In a city known for its teeny weeny hotel rooms, it’s crazy to see these palaces in the sky. And after several super pricey rooms, the ‘regular’ hotel rooms at the Lotte look downright affordable. Funny how that happens!

  7. Jen says:

Holy wow!! So cool to get a peek inside these places I will surely never stay in my lifetime. That’s more than I currently earn in one year haha! Good to know there are bargain suites for $10,000 🙂

  8. Carolina Colborn says:

The Jewel and Champagne Suites are the look of luxury. Somebody please sponsor me for just a night’s stay!

  9. That Jewel Suite looks INCREDIBLE! WOW. It’s really like a huge Manhattan apartment, isn’t it! And the Maybach, why not, right?

  10. These rooms are absolutely gorgeous. The details of each are phenomenal. With that said… there are just so many other things I would do with that sort of money!!!! Sort of shocked it’s not an American owned hotel, though!

  11. mags says:

Wow! That is an insane room. A bit out of my price range, but maybe someday!

  12. Wow! Very luxurious and attractive, Tamara! Although this isn’t my kind of traveling, it is nice to be known!
