Google takes Street View to the Galapagos Islands

A trip to the Galapagos Islands is high on many people’s bucket lists, and for good reason given all the incredible ecosystem has to offer. Not only is it a mecca for water sports like kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving, but there is much to see on land as well.

However, a trip to the islands off the coast of Ecuador can be quite pricey, especially after paying for your cruise, hotels and flights. And that’s where Google comes in.

To celebrate the 178th anniversary of Charles Darwin arriving on the islands, the search-engine giant launched 360 degree Street View imagery of the Galapagos. Now, users can take a peek at those adorable sea lions, giant tortoises, schools of fish and blue-footed boobies—without spending a cent.
