Still the happiest place on earth? Disneyland raises ticket prices

Disneyland has never been a cheap place to visit, especially after paying for hotels, food and souvenirs. But it just got even pricier for families, with the park announcing it has raised ticket prices.

One-day admission will now set mom and dad back a staggering $92—a five dollar increase. The kiddies now cost $87 dollars to get in the park.

“Like any business, we evaluate and adjust our pricing based on a variety of factors,” Walt Disney Co. said in a statement. “A ticket to our theme parks represents a great value, particularly when you look at the breadth and quality of attractions and entertainment we offer, and the special moments guests experience with our cast.”

Annual pass rates will also jump $20 per year, and apply to Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and Disney World.

Do you think prices are too high, or are they justified? Comment below, or tweet me.

  1. I know this is a little frustrating, and I am a little miffed about it too. That said, I tend to agree with the company statement. The only thing that makes going to Disneyland a hassle sometimes are the crowds. Otherwise, the quality of the entertain is ridiculously good. We were just at Disneyland in April…the new Fantasy Faire right next to the castle is fantastic. The show that we saw was top rate. If just that show appeared at a theatre near you it would probably cost $15 for adults and $8 to $10 for kids. Just that show. Multiply that by all the other stuff going on and I do think there is value at Disneyland. There is nothing else like it. Anyway…my two cents.
